Recently there have been some changes in the office of Parent to Parent of NY State on Staten Island. Jackie Tripodi has moved on to a new position with the Developmental Disabilities Council and we are the new coordinators on Staten Island. As the new coordinators for Parent to Parent of NY State, we’d like to take a moment to introduce ourselves:
Maryalice Fegeley will be the Parent to Parent Regional Coordinator, providing information and support of parents of children who have developmental disabilities and special health care needs. She is the parent of 9-year-old boy-girl twins and her son has been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. Since he was diagnosed, she has learned to become his advocate as they navigate a course for services and education.
Annette Raia is the Coordinator for Family To Family Health Care Information and Education Center, providing information, advocacy skills development, and emotional support to parents of children with special health care needs. Children with special health care needs may or may not have developmental disabilities. She is the parent of 3 year-old boy-girl twins and her son has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS. She has worked extensively with people with disabilities for over 12 years in many different capacities, including as Service Coordinator and Coordinator of Waiver Services.
